Chiropractic

Our chiropractors are passionate about fitness and are excited to help you reach your goals. Whether you are looking for someone to show you the basics, or to help you perform better, we are here to help.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a regulated healthcare profession that focuses on the improvement of function and mobility. Chiropractors possess the clinical knowledge and expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat movement disorders, acute injuries, and chronic pain syndromes.

The chiropractor will provide evidence-based options for care, while considering the individual’s unique preferences and goals. This team effort produces high quality, ethical care that will get you moving and feeling your best.

First Visit Expectations

The chiropractic approach to care begins with a conversation; we want to understand what you are experiencing. Then a variety of orthopaedic and functional assessments are used to inform the treatment direction. Our approach is to involve you in your treatment planning, while utilizing evidence-based strategies. Once an appropriate and timely plan is decided upon, treatment will begin.

All treatments will include education, rehabilitative movements and/or exercise, as well as manual therapies to minimize pain and get you moving more efficienctly.

Next Steps & Treatment

Treatment always begins with education, because knowledge is power. Having an in-depth understanding of your pain will empower you to explore various self-management techniques and ultimately teach you how to take care of yourself. But, before you feel confident to achieve this on your own, our chiropractor will utilize a wide range of hands on and off strategies including functional range release techniques, instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, clinical acupuncture, diversified chiropractic (including spinal/extremity mobilization and manipulation), rehabilitative exercise and functional range conditioning. Active care is incorporated to maximize treatment outcomes and long-term change.

Conditions We Treat

Chiropractors treat a multitude of musculoskeletal conditions /injuries including (but not limited to):

- Spinal pain (neck, mid and low back)
- Headaches (tension-type)
- Jaw and/or facial pain (Bell’s Palsy)
- Shoulder pain (rotator cuff injuries)
- Elbow and wrist pain (tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow)
- Hip pain (osteoarthritis)
- Knee pain (osteoarthritis, Jumper’s knee)
- Foot pain (plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains)
- Various sports injuries (sprained ligaments, strained muscles)

Spinal Manipulative Therapy

Spinal manipulative therapy (SMT), often thought of as joint cracking, is comprised of a variety of adjustment techniques aimed at improving and restoring joint motion of the spinal vertebrae.

There is absolutely no pressure to be adjusted by the chiropractor. SMT may or may not be indicated in your particular scenario. The chiropractor will inform you of all of your options and respect your decision in either case. There are a multitude of other treatment strategies that can be employed, and that will provide excellent outcomes should you choose to opt out.

Acupuncture

Neurofunctional Acupuncture is a treatment technique that involves inserting thin, single-use needles into various parts of the body in order to target the specific anatomical tissues associated with your pain, weakness, or other movement limitations. Sometimes this may include a small electrical current applied through the needles to increase the stimulation of the nerves and muscles. This technique is often painless and can result in improvements to your strength, range of motion, and pain.

There is absolutely no pressure to receive acupuncture as part of your treatment. Your chiropractor will inform you of the risks and benefits, as well as other treatment options so that you are able to make the best decision for you.
